The main street has been described as being the best unspoilt high street in England, with narrow lanes, some of which are cobbled, lead to more hidden courtyards and squares. A walk around the picturesque sandy harbour, shows fishing boats together with hire boats along with range of pubs, cafes and restaurants.

There are five sandy family friendly beaches with one, Porthmeor having world renown for surfing. The turquoise waters and golden sands have inspired many an artist over the years but most important are a great place for a day out. You can also walk out onto the Island and experience it’s atmosphere and views. Fancy a trip out to sea? There are boats to hire that include fishing trips, sightseeing and for the more adventurous even parascending.

If culture is your thing then you can visit the Tate Gallery or one of the many other galleries the town is famous for. The number of galleries in St Ives is no surprise as the town has a vibrant artist community. The unique nature of the town’s light that has drawn many artists to the town for generations.

The restaurants pubs and eateries in the town are an attraction on their own. Some boast spectacular views across the harbour and out to sea, with the food and drink on offer a real celebration of Cornish produce or cuisine.

Although St Ives has so much to offer it’s also a great base to explore the mines, cliffs and moorlands of west Penwith either walking, by bicycle or car. The area has some of the finest scenery in Britain. You will never tire of things to do.
