Why should I visit Kennall Vale?

If you love finding our more about Cornwall’s fascinating industrial past Kennall Vale is a great place for a walk through beautiful woodland with rich undergrowth and some granite monuments to the past.  It is not mining remnants you will see this time but rather an abandoned gunpowder factory.

This walking trail sparks the imagination, offering budding photographers a wealth of captivating scenes at every turn.  Whether you want to connect with nature, indulge in Cornwall’s past or just get some great images for Instagram we recommend that you visit (but not on the weekend!)

Due to overcrowding the Cornwall Wildlife trust has asked visitors to avoid exploring the site at peak times.

The Kennall Vale site is an important habitat for local wildlife and during busy times, visitors leaving the established tracks has had a detrimental impact on the area.

Please also be aware that the nearby lanes are used by farm vehicles and emergency services so so not park your car in a rea that will restrict access.

Dogs are welcome on leads.
