What do I need to know on my visit to Mousehole Rock Pool?

If you are enjoying a Staycation in Mousehole and fancy a fun free activity then a trip to Mousehole Rock pool is a great way to get in a sea swim without being in the open water.   The views across the bay to St Michael’s Mount are wonderful and on a clear day you can also see the Lizard Peninsula beyond.  The location really is first class and for this reason it must visit on your Mousehole holiday.

The community built the pool as a place for local children to learn to swim, and if you’re on a child-friendly holiday in Mousehole, you should definitely take the time to visit and enjoy the rock pool—especially on a warm day.

The pool is on the eastern side of Mousehole and you can use the postcode TR19 7QD or use the What3Words reference ///goodbye.thumb.burn.  It is immediately in front of the Rock Pool Cafe and there is a large car park, although if you are on holiday in Mousehole walking is much easier and greener

The best time to visit is a few hours on either side of high tide, when the sea fills the rock pool. The Mousehole Rock Pool is a favorite with locals and also draws plenty of staycation visitors. Summer peak times can get very busy, but early morning or evening swimmers are rewarded with a much quieter experience.

No lifeguards patrol the Mousehole Rock Pool, so visitors should take care, even though most people find it a safe place to swim. The Mousehole Rock Pool gets a big thumbs up from us as a great way to enjoy a couple of hours of salt, sea and sun on your next Mousehole staycation.
